Tiered Cake Pans

Tiered cake pans are an easy way to improve the elegance and increase the size of a cake. It is very easy to bake a tiered cake when you have the cake pans to make it happen. Tiered cake pans come in all shapes and sizes, but the most common are square, round, and teardrop. They are perfect for baking a wedding cake, a fancy birthday cake, or a cake for a special event.

In order for tiered cakes to increase size you can put spacers and stands between them. This is the common wedding cake design. There are usually three tiers that increase in size from the bottom up. These stands come in shapes and sizes that are directly related to the cake pan. For example, if you have a Wilton tiered round cake pan set, there is also a set of stands that matches it. It's very important to align your stands center on the cake, or it will be unbalanced and run the risk of toppling over.

If you don't want to use the spacers and stands, you can also put the tiers directly on top of each other. It's important that you secure them in place so that they don't slide around on top of each other. Decorating these tiered cakes is easy, and they take well to a smooth fondant job.
